RFID Tags
Different Frequency, Different read range.
We cover almost all RFID applications.
An RFID tag is a small electronic device used to identify, track, and manage objects wirelessly. RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification, a technology that allows data to be transmitted using radio waves rather than physical contact. An RFID tag typically consists of three core elements: a microchip for storing data, an antenna for transmitting and receiving signals, and a protective substrate or housing. When the tag enters the electromagnetic field generated by an RFID reader, it responds by sending its stored information back to the reader. This process does not require line of sight, which is one of the key advantages over barcodes.
In terms of specifications and types, RFID tags are generally classified by frequency and power source. By frequency, they are divided into Low Frequency (LF, around 125 kHz), High Frequency (HF, 13.56 MHz), and Ultra High Frequency (UHF, 860–960 MHz). LF tags are short-range and resistant to interference, HF tags are widely used for access control and NFC applications, and UHF tags offer long reading distance and fast multi-tag identification. By power type, tags can be passive (no battery), active (battery-powered), or semi-passive. Tags also come in many physical forms, such as labels, cards, wristbands, hard tags, and on-metal tags, each designed for specific environments.
The main applications of RFID tags cover a wide range of industries. They are used in logistics and warehouse management to track pallets and goods, in retail for inventory control, in access control and ticketing for secure identification, and in asset management to monitor valuable equipment. RFID tags are also common in healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, and smart cities. Wherever efficiency, accuracy, and automation matter, RFID tags quietly work in the background, turning physical objects into digital data.
